Rev. Martha Jenkins, Deacon
The Rev. Martha Jenkins was assigned by the Diocese to serve as the deacon of St. Martin in the Fields in May 2026.
A proud Kansas native, she grew up in Leavenworth County where her family was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for over thirty years.
Deacon Martha was ordained at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. by the Right Rev. Marianne Budde in October 2022. She sees her primary call as a deacon to bridge the sacred liturgy of the altar to the needs of the everyday world, manifesting God's grace, charity and presence to people in their time of need.
Martha earned her B.S. from the University of Kansas and her Juris Doctor from Washburn University.
She also holds a certificate in Anglican Studies from the Virginia Theological Seminary.
In her free time Martha enjoys kayaking, hiking, reading, and gardening, as well as serving as a spiritual care volunteer at KU MED.
