Margie Ruth (Trickett) Claxton, 59, of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on February 3rd, 2016.  Margie was born in Kansas City, Kansas on June 22, 1956.  She grew up in the Edwardsville area, and graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1974.  She married her high school sweetheart following graduation.  Margie worked in the insurance field, banking industry, and finally for the United States Post Office as a carrier.  She was a volunteer EMT in Bonner Springs for over 20 years and served on multiple committees throughout the community.  She was deeply religious and very active in her church, serving on the vestry, alter guild, and was a lay Eucharist minister.  She managed her own seasonal tax business for over 30 years.  She enjoyed serving her community, her church, and spoiling her grandchildren.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, George Trickett, Sr. and Bernice Trickett; and one brother, George Trickett, Jr.

​Survivors include her husband of 41 years, John Claxton; a daughter, Kelly Claxton; a son, Eric Claxton (Ashley Likely); grandchildren, Emma Van Brocklin and Austin Hedrick; brothers, John Trickett and Larry Trickett; and her beloved dog and faithful companion, Snickers.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 5th at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church (1501 Edwardsville Dr., Edwardsville, KS) from 5:00-8:00 PM, and Holy Eucharist service Saturday, February 6th at 11:00 AM, graveside burial following at Edwardsville Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Martin int he Fields Building Fund, P.O. Box 13012, Edwardsville, KS 66113 in memory of Margie Claxton.
